The esthetician
Kristin
Designer first. Esthetician by calling.
The story
The long way here
Some estheticians found their way to skin through beauty. Kristin found her way through design.
She trained at NC State’s College of Design, where she learned to see the way designers see — symmetry, proportion, texture, balance, the discipline of knowing when to stop. She carried that eye through creative industries, and then into the most demanding design project there is: fourteen years devoted to raising her family. It taught her something no studio ever could — that real care is patient, personal, and mostly invisible.
When she began her second career in aesthetics, everything converged. Skin, it turns out, is a design medium: it has structure and texture, light and proportion, and it rewards restraint over force. Vána Beauty is the studio she built around that conviction — a place where treatments are composed rather than performed, where subtle beats dramatic, and where you will always hear the honest answer, including when the honest answer is “your skin doesn’t need that.”
“I notice symmetry for a living. I can’t turn it off — so I decided to make it useful.”
How I work
Three commitments
Your skin sets the agenda.
Every appointment begins with what your skin is doing today — not a script, not a menu, not a sales target.
Candor is care.
You'll get honest expectations, written aftercare, and a plain answer about what a treatment can and can't do. If something isn't right for you, I'll say so — even when it costs me the booking.
Unhurried, always.
I book fewer clients on purpose. Good work takes the time it takes, and you’ll feel the difference the moment you sit down.

A note from Kristin
“If you’ve read this far, you’re my kind of client — someone who researches, who cares about the details, who wants it done right. Come let me return the favor. Your skin will be studied, not processed.”
